First thing to note: following doesn't actually suggest anything, especially if you 2 aren't "friends." It simply means that your posts marked PUBLIC will certainly show up in their timeline. No big deal (you marked it PUBLIC, right?).
Second, if you would like to know who is ACTUALLY following you:
1. Most likely to your friends listing
2. Strike the "MORE" button on the right
3. then hit "Following".
If you don't like what you see because listing, you can click the "Manage" pencil symbol and afterwards the "Edit Privacy" button in the upper right (see screen shot above).
Keep in mind: If you allow individuals that aren't your buddies follow you, individuals that send good friend requests that you ignore or delete will automatically begin following you. If you don't desire a person to follow you, you can block them any time.
